Help shape a bright future for Moira Shire, community input welcomed for 2024/25 Budget and beyond.
Moira Shire Council is excited to embark on a collaborative journey with the community to shape the Annual Budget for 2024/25 and future budget years to come. With a commitment to aligning the budget with the Council Plan and adapting to evolving community needs, Council is eager to involve community in its strategic planning process.
Recognising the significance of community feedback, Moira Shire Council aims to ensure the upcoming budget reflects the priorities of its residents by seeking input early in the budgeting process.
Residents are encouraged to share their priorities through user-friendly tools that includes ranking priority services and voting on projects they’d love to see supported in the region. The input received will play a crucial role in shaping the future directions of the region.
Moira Shire Council Interim Chief Executive Officer Michael Tudball said Council believes in the power of having a collective vision and collaborating with community.
“The community’s priorities matter, and we are excited to work together to build a vibrant and resilient community,” Mr Tudball said.
Council aims to craft a financially responsible budget while maintaining a focus on delivering vital services and priority projects for the community.
While Council develops the 2024/25 budget, we are also open to considering project proposals that may shape the future of our community, said Moira Shire Council’s Manager Finance, Beau Mittner.
“Our project life cycle spans several years, allowing us to plan for the long-term future. We encourage community members to share their project ideas even if they are not feasible at this point in time. This will allow Council the opportunity to forward plan and work with the Community and Federal or State Government to see these ideas come to fruition in future years.”
In addition to the annual budget, Council is actively revitalising its 10-year Long Term Financial Plan. This comprehensive plan aims to ensure Council is providing its essential services and delivering priority capital projects in a financially sustainable manner by implementing appropriate financial strategies.
