It was a night to celebrate as the business community from Moira Shire and surrounding areas came together on Thursday 12 September to acknowledge the innovation, ingenuity and hard work that defines local business.
Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator, Dr Graeme Emonson PSM, said that the Moira Business Achievement Awards, which took place at The Sebel, Yarrawonga, were an opportunity recognise businesses that have developed innovative ways to continue to retain and attract customers, show leadership, and provided good services to our community.
“It is important to acknowledge the businesses in our region that exemplify innovation, creativity, and dedication in the ways that they are serving our communities. Successful businesses not only fuel our economy but add to the vitality and vibrancy of our region,” said Dr Emonson.
Over 500 nominations were received for the 11 award categories that were presented on the evening. Winners were selected through a voting process, where the community had the opportunity to vote for the businesses they felt were most deserving of acknowledgement.
“We received over 7,400 votes and were overwhelmed by the remarkable support we saw for the nominated businesses. I would like to thank everyone who has participated in this process and contributed to the 2024 Moira Business Awards being a true celebration of local business.,” said Dr Emonson.
“Moira Shire Council is proud to celebrate the outstanding businesses that make Moira a thriving hub for commerce and innovation. Each winner has demonstrated excellence in their respective fields and is a true reflection of the spirit of our business community.”
The Moira Business Achievement Awards were hosted by Masters of Ceremonies Mark Bloodworth and Jeff Green, with Jeff also delighting the audience with a comedy performance.

We are very proud to be recognized for this award and are truly humbled by the nomination.
We pride ourselves on our high levels of customer service and knowledge of our industry. Rex instilled into the business from the very start that our customers and their cows will never run out of stockfeed. Nowadays we are making feed for more than just dairy cows but our philosophy of service to the customer has stayed the same.
In accepting this award we recognize and thank our customers for trusting us to get the job done.
We are extremely proud to own and operate our business in Nathalia and the Moira shire. Nathalia is a great town to live work and raise a family. We can’t thank the people of Nathalia enough for their ongoing support and for continuing on this journey with us.
